My Magic Pencil ("we") is an AI teacher that turns topics and documents into hand-drawn, narrated lessons. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We do not show ads or sell your personal data.

Information we collect

Account: your email address, used to sign in and secure your account (managed by Amazon Cognito).

Lessons you create: the topics, pasted text, or documents (PDFs/images) you submit, and the lessons generated from them.

Usage: a per-day count of lessons you generate, to prevent abuse and manage cost.

Marketplace: if you buy or sell lessons, a record of the transaction and (for creators) the payout details you provide.

On your device: lessons you create may also be stored locally in your browser so you can revisit them offline. This never leaves your device unless you choose to save or share it.

How we use it and who processes it

To generate a lesson, the topic/text/document you submit is sent to Anthropic (the Claude AI model) to produce the lesson.

To narrate a video export, the lesson's narration text is sent to Amazon Polly to synthesize speech.

Lessons, account data, and indexes are stored on Amazon Web Services (S3, DynamoDB, Cognito) in the United States (region us-east-1).

Marketplace payments and creator payouts are processed by Cashfree Payments (India). We never see or store your full card/bank credentials.

We use your data only to provide and improve the service — not for advertising, and we do not sell it.

Children

My Magic Pencil is an educational tool that may be used by children. If you are under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), you may use it only with the involvement and consent of a parent, guardian, teacher, or school.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13 without appropriate consent, and we do not use children's data for profiling or behavioral advertising.

A parent, guardian, or school may contact us to review or delete a child's data at support@mymagicpencil.com.

Your rights and choices

Access & portability: you can view and export your lessons (e.g. as PDF or MP4) from within the app.

Deletion: you can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time using "Delete my account" in the menu. This removes your account, your stored lessons, and your purchase/usage records.

Depending on your location (e.g. EU/UK GDPR, California CCPA) you may have additional rights to access, correct, or restrict processing — contact us to exercise them.

Retention & security

We keep your data while your account is active, and delete it when you delete your account. Some records may persist briefly in backups before being purged.

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Access to stored data is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

We may update this policy; we'll change the date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app.
